What a video I stumbled across this morning.....
This is all in French, but that doesn't matter. What is portrayed needs no words.
The commercial dairy industry is, without question, cruel and vile. Cows are artificially inseminated to produce milk and their babies are taken away so we humans can take all the milk for ourselves. These calves become veal if they are male, or if they're female they go on to be a part of this same horrible cycle.
A lot of people are comforted by the idea of "happy" cows, often just called "organic". They live in green fields and eat lovely grass and don't live cooped up in foul enclosures standing in their own shit. These "happy" cows make up about 1% of the commercial Dairy market.
This video depicts perhaps the nicest and kindest way to take a baby away from its mother. Why is it so horrible and worth sharing? Why does it support the Vegan movement? Because there is NO WAY to "kindly" do such a thing. And guess what? It is a BASIC part of the dairy industry. Baby cows cannot suckle the money, I mean milk, that needs to be sold.
Watch as this "happy" cow, living in its beautiful field, has to be victim to the basics of being a Dairy Cow and have its child taken away to become veal.
See if you think they can't feel? Or have no intelligence?
